The IAAH is a multidisciplinary, non-government organization with a broad focus on youth health. IAAH was established in 1987 and is committed to the principles of youth empowerment in all aspects of its affairs and supports the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989).
IAAH offers a range of services and activities to its members and to youth-serving organizations:
- 3 - 4 Newsletters per year
- A quadrennial international scientific congress
- Co-sponsorship of meetings and projects
- A registry of member interests and expertise
- An international mailing list
- Regional professional education events
- Guidance and support for the development of national associations for adolescent/youth health
Our Mission is to:
- Foster wider understanding of the importance of youth health in each region of the world.
- Encourage interaction and co-operation between youth and non-youth and between organizations and individuals on youth health issues
- Foster the development of national associations for youth health
- Advocate on behalf of improved levels of service, training, research and policy development in youth health in each country
